Guild pages are now editable by guild leaders!
To edit your guild page, just visit it , making sure you’ve switched to your guild leader character in the “My Characters” menu on the top bar.
Currently you can write a description and set a few other descriptive fields. Over the coming days we’ll be adding more fields you can fill in, including friends, enemies, affiliations, and much more!
Update! – just added a D&D-style alignment field to both guilds and characters. Also, guilds can now have affiliated factions.
What is actually being done during development on the site? Read on and find out, but be prepared for geek overload!
We’ve been hard at work behind the scenes, switching our hastily-cobbled-together SMF forums to a shiny new Invision Power Board setup.
You can see the fruits of our labors over at the new forums URL: http://forum.cenarioncircle.org
No posts were harmed in the making of this website, and have all been ported over.
We listened to you. We scratched our heads. We tried to pretend we hadn’t heard. We ran away, played Skyrim for a bit, read some books, and generally forgot all about it.
But now, finally, we’ve started doing it! Guild pages are coming to the dotOrg!
Watch out for recruitment tools, guild blogs and… a little surprise, all coming soon!
So we’ve had requests from people that would like to comment on characters that haven’t been registered here yet by their owners.
No problem!
Just visit http://cenarioncircle.org/character/character-name-here
(replacing character-name-here with the name of the character in question, obviously)
And as long as that character exists on the armory, they’ll be added to our database and you can start commenting away!
The story archive is now live for user submissions!
Submit your own stories of your character’s lives in Azeroth.
In-character Blogs for all Player Characters are now available.
Just head over to the “my characters” page to activate yours!
Blogs can be passworded so you can only share it with your closest friends, and you can also moderate the comments section of your own blog to your heart’s content. Blogs are meant to be more for diaries than stories, the latter being taken care of once we get our nifty story section up! Eventually…eh-heheh.
So within hours of moving the character switcher to the top-right menu (you all noticed that, right?), it stopped working.
Tracking through the code changes didn’t show anything wrong, until I realised one vital other problem:
The WoW Armory was down.
d’oh. Dependency on the armory being online has now been removed from the character switcher, and as long as the character exists in our database it’ll now work whether Armory is up or not.
Doing a fairly major Forum upgrade today, so please excuse any weird error messages or temporary loss of posts.
All done! Currently testing out new forum software, and should replace the existing one shortly.
We’ve now got a twitter account @CCRPCommunity
